Amazon Web Services holds its AWS KL Summit annually, and every year it gets bigger. For the last few consecutive years, we had the opportunity to work with them on one of the industry’s biggest events. The KL Summit is held up to the same rigorous standards as AWS summits around the world. With the number of participants increasing year-on-year, it is even more critical for our Brand Management and CRM team to meet AWS’ demands for better control, efficiency, and security.
First impressions count. We set up a 200ft stage and three 50ft split screens in the main ballroom to accommodate the massive number of participants. State-of-the-art AV ensured efficient communication.
Fast and convenient self-registration kiosks dispersed human bottlenecks. Sponsors were given a lead scanner to track leads that visited their booth. We coordinated with AWS’ own security team to minimize the hassle of bag checks and ease the flow of traffic.
Our Brand Activation team oversaw event management while our CRM team handled reminder calls, on-site registration, and feedback collection. CRM work was crucial to ensure that the relevant information was captured and passed on to Brand Activation for their planning needs, as well as to create positive touchpoints for guests every step of the way. Adhering to AWS’ stringent guidelines, we worked within local restrictions to carry the torch through to the finish line.
The AWS Summit brought AWS and customers together for one day. We covered the finer details so that our client could focus on the bigger picture. Doing the reminder calls as close as possible to the event day helped the events team to plan accurately for food and other logistics.
The self-registration kiosks cut individual registration time to less than half from the previous year, significantly quickening the process and boosting guest experience. The automated process aligns with AWS’ philosophy of automation and efficiency, reconciling their brand belief to their brand experience.
